Hi, I’m Hilary. Since I was very young, I’ve been fascinated by what it is to be human, what enables and supports us to live life to the fullest, and what gets in the way of this.

As a mindfulness facilitator, birth educator, doula, and more recently as an end of life and bereavement supporter, my work has invited me into the ‘liminal’ spaces of change, transition, birth and death. Although we tend to avoid and even fear these spaces, I have found, both in my own experience and through supporting others, that these times -fraught as they are with uncertainty and even chaos - can be when we actually feel most alive, most connected to ourselves and others. They can offer us an opportunity to move beyond what we thought was possible and find a new and expanded sense of meaning.

Feeling a sense of meaning and connection with ourselves, those we love, the wider community and the world around us is only possible when we are present. We have such brilliant thinking brains -minds that can invent, plan, strategise, reflect -but we can so easily lose ourselves in a virtual world of thoughts and ideas which can disconnect us from our our own bodies, our ability to listen deeply, open our hearts and be available to ourselves and others.

There are so many things in our modern lives that get in the way of us being fully present and embodied. Most of us need to practise the art of being in the here and now, of being receptive to the touch of life. I love to create spaces where presence, connection and deep listening are possible, whether that’s alone in meditation, sitting with a bereaved client, supporting a couple through the birth process or facilitating a group for mothers.

In 2021 my son left home and my partner and I relocated to rural southern Snowdonia. My new home environment lends itself so readily to presence and connection -the mountains, rivers, lakes, birds and trees draw me out of my head and into connectedness -and I am very grateful for that. I love a wander or a good hike in nature. I’m equally happy in my kitchen, cooking up a meal for family or friends, otherwise you might find me in my garden, trying my hand at growing veggies.

I’m looking forward to connecting with you soon!

I am a warm, compassionate therapist supporting clients through creative, relational, and trauma-informed approaches. I work one to one with children, young people and adults offering a safe, non-judgmental space for healing and growth.

Alongside my private practice, I work an NHS Mother and Baby Unit as a specialist in parental and perinatal mental health. Here, I support families navigating complex mental health challenges, including fathers and partners during times of acute crisis. I’m deeply committed to helping the whole family move through difficulty with strength, understanding, and connection.

As well as seeking support for current life challenges, many of the clients I work with come to therapy to explore how their early experiences, continue to shape their present day living, family dynamics, and relationship patterns. Together, we gently unpack what’s been carried over time offering space to process, heal, and reconnect with your sense of self.

My integrative approach brings together attachment theory, psychoanalytic thinking, neuroscience, and the expressive power of play and art therapy. With a background in the arts, I often weave creativity into the therapeutic process to help make sense of what can be hard to put into words.

Whether you’re facing current challenges or looking to understand yourself more deeply, you will be warmly welcomed. Please get in touch for an initial conversation.

I am a Clinical Psychologist and have worked in the NHS in various roles for over 15 years. More recently, I have taken a break from clinical work to grow and nurture my young family. Prior to this, I worked with children and adolescents, their caregivers, families and the systems around them. I have also worked with adults experiencing a broad range of difficulties such as significant mental health challenges, neurodiversity, physical health conditions, and major life transitions. I love working with young people and the systems around them to help them move through difficult life experiences. I do so with compassion, creativity and curiosity and by developing a shared understanding of the problems the young person and family are facing. Together we look for stories that affirm the strengths and resilience of the young person or family while also drawing on various evidence based techniques that build up skills that might help guide them through adversity. I particularly love working with neurodivergent young people and adults, exploring together how they experience the world. I work predominantly from a trauma-informed perspective and a lot of my work with neurodivergent families focusses on the parent-child relationship. I draw on a broad range of models in my therapeutic work including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment-based therapies and more holistic approaches that look at how the mind and body interact.

Hi! I’m Oli. I teach yoga to adults, children and teens, and I believe whether you are 2 years old or 102 year olds, yoga can help you explore how it feels to be happy, healthy and balanced.

My yoga practice began whilst I was in my final year of university in 2016. After graduating, I began working as an assistant in a number of nurseries and primary schools, both mainstream and in a Montessori setting. Over these years, I saw first hand how school is such a formative time and how we can forget the many stressors children face at this age.

I began teaching children’s yoga at the weekend as I wanted the children I worked with to be able to access and experience the many benefits of mindfulness and yoga in a way that made sense to them.

In 2021, I founded Balance Kids Yoga, teaching in nurseries, schools, studios and other venues - as well as online - with the aim of bringing yoga to those who wouldn’t typically access it.

I have always been passionate about wellbeing in all its forms and following a rewarding career in project management and consultancy, I found myself being drawn to counselling and wanting to find my place in the world helping others. As part of this journey, I started and continue, to work with vulnerable adults in mental health recovery work, providing practical and emotional support to individuals with complex and traumatic histories. I also have experience in grief counselling and offer pre-bereavement and bereavement counselling to family and friends of patients receiving hospice care. These diverse, multifaceted and nuanced lines of work are inherently aligned with my work as a person-centred counsellor.

The person-centred approach trusts that we are doing the best we can with what is available to us, and that we all have the capacity for change and growth when offered a safe environment where we are valued, understood and empowered – and this is what I strive to offer in my counselling practice. Sometimes we just need some support, someone to share our worries with, someone to help us explore our feelings, make sense of things, and come to our own solutions in our own time.

I believe being truly heard and accepted for who we are, without judgement and with authenticity is a precious experience that we all deserve, and that has the power to make a profound difference in our lives. My hope is to be your faithful companion on your therapeutic journey, supporting you in your process, whatever this means for you.

I’ve been practising yoga since I was a child. I learned that we’re designed to move, and our original movements were eastful and felt good. Now, (many) years later, that’s how I approach teaching yoga and training yoga teachers.

I’ve completed numerous courses, including a Masters in the traditions of yoga and meditation. Having studied yoga inside out, upside down I can honestly tell you yoga is for everybody.

Possibly more important than my qualifications, is my ability to create a space for you to remember who you were before conditioning and culture made you hold your body in unnatural, small and ultimately painful ways.

Our practise together is a journey home.

Life presents a multitude of events, challenges and obstacles, that at times can be difficult to surmount. Each person meets these with different perspectives and emotions; these differences are part of what makes us human.

Another vital part of being human is the need for connection and to share what we are experiencing, to help make sense of our existence. But if you’re feeling overwhelmed and resources are depleted, it can be hard to find space to reflect and find a way through.

I aim to offer a compassionate, safe and nonjudgemental environment, where you are free to explore what’s important to you. Together we will work collaboratively, and mindfully uncover the values and beliefs influencing your responses to concerns which may be arising.

My work is grounded in a person centred approach, which acknowledges your intrinsic capacity for growth and is informed by my long standing practices of mindful and somatic embodied awareness.

With conscious attention, I use my body and discreet interoception – the sense that helps us understand and feel what’s going on inside our bodies – to attune to your needs in our therapeutic relationship, and help you to determine the outcomes you desire.

I began working online and via telephone early March 2020 and have supported clients throughout the pandemic. I also facilitate therapeutic support groups for mothers who’ve experienced birthing alone, restricted visits, traumatic birth, pregnancy complications, premature birth and neonatal illness.

I am a humanistic integrative counsellor, in practice now for 6 years and a member of the BACP. I aim to provide a space that feels safe, warm and free from judgement, criticism or discrimination.

It all begins with me listening carefully…as your thoughts, feelings and stories begin to emerge, we choose which paths to follow. Sometimes this might include some creative experiments, perhaps a writing exercise or playing with objects, it’s not always talking and listening.

I will also pay attention to your body, perhaps to the way your breath is moving or noticing what a clenched fist might be trying to communicate, your body expresses in all sorts of ways.

At the centre of my practice is a compassionate curiosity and a desire for all the different parts of you to take up space and to be heard. I invite you to contemplate that we are not a singular ‘self’, but a collection of ‘selves’. Some parts are more dominant than others but all are valuable and have something useful to communicate. It may have value to do some reorganising, to allow quiet and perhaps denied parts to be heard too. Welcoming all of our ‘selves’ can feel like a homecoming, a settling into an experience of self that makes sense.

The therapeutic space can be a place of exploration, also transformation and safe refuge. This was true for me when I began the process of reconnecting with myself after the birth of my first child, 20 years ago. Becoming a parent was a transformative experience and I felt the need to learn myself anew. To put oneself into context, feel the roots of your experience and create fertile ground for fresh growth, is both a challenge and a gift. I feel privileged and excited to share this process with my clients.

When I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in the Autumn of 2017, I was faced with a massive opportunity and choice: radically change my life or keep it as it was and hope for the best. I chose the first option and I still do - every day.

Yoga played a huge role in how I viewed my body, the disease and my reason to be. I become a teacher and I specialise in supporting people who have been touched by cancer.

My approach is varied and I blend different modalities that I learn through my continuous trainings, from Energy Medicine Yoga to somatic practices.

I often tailor my classes to the seasons, aiming to create balance and lightness within the body, giving the opportunity to feel more connected, present, grounded, open and at ease.

I specifically target issues that may arise during or post treatment, and I provide tools to deal with anxiety, fatigue, loss of mobility, bone loss, muscle weakness, etc - building strength and a sense of calm through postures, mindfulness and breath.

My mottos are: “stay open & love yourself into healing”.

I look forward to learning more - together.

Hello, I am Josie and I am an original Brightonian, which is often rare to find! My introduction to Contemporary Dance was in Brighton and Hove Youth Dance Company many moons ago before going on to complete my degree in Contemporary Dance studies.

I am a community dance artist and dance educator, having spent many years facilitating for some brilliant community organisations, professional companies, schools, colleges and in many varied settings and spaces. Before returning to the south coast, I taught for several years at The BRIT School for Performing Arts and then as a Animateur for Rambert Dance Company.

I am passionate about the delivery of high quality dance and movement classes for all and believe in the importance of allowing space for individuality and creativity. When I am not teaching dance, I can be found leading restorative yoga classes in and around my local community, teaching the practice inclusively and joyfully with respect and acceptance of our wonderful bodies and busy minds.

I hold a PGCE in secondary dance education, have trained in the recently developed Rambert Grades contemporary dance syllabus, have gained training under Yoga for Teens and recently returned to University to study the practice of Dance Movement Psychotherapy. I currently teach for South East Dance and am an associate artist for Parable Dance Company and have taken part in numerous training courses with Candoco, One Dance UK and People Dancing

Young people are deserving of safe spaces to explore, express and push boundaries through their chosen art form and I feel it is crucial to their development. I find this age group, their growth and their potential really exciting as a dance and yoga teacher and I love the unexpected in leading creatively in community spaces and participatory work.
